Chandelao lies in the kingdom of Jodhpur, 40 kilometers from Jodhpur city, and Chandelao Garh, now also called Basecamp Rajasthan, is situated in this peaceful village.

Stay in a 300 years old fort!
This fort is almost 300 years old, and belongs to the Takhur of Chandelao. Here, history has seeped into the very walls, and the fort is much as it was when the wars were fought. We have however renovated twelve rooms. No two rooms are alike, and we have kept them as original as possible, except the bathrooms which are modern. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and you sleep like a king under the portrait of the last warrior.

Your host is the Takhur himself. He can trace his noble family roots back to the 1100-century, and he tells you about his family’s proud history while you wander around in his living museum.

The best kitchen of India
Rajasthan is known to have the best kitchen of India, based on the most exotic spices and vegetables in the world. The menu is served in an unlimited number of variations. You may want to join the chef in the kitchen, and to bring some of the recipes back home.

Basecamp Rajasthan is the only accommodation in the village of Chandelao. Here you will find no other tourists, and the place naturally offers interaction with the locals.
